HULA HOOP UPDATE: after only 2 minutes on the back porch, I figured out how to hula hoop! Whew am glad I am not as much of a bonehead as I thought. I can walk with it a few steps, turn around a bit, got the rocking problem covered. However, I bought a big, huge, heavy hula hoop but I’m ready to move up to a smaller, more lightweight one. Must I wait for a summer festival?
Funky Meltdown Dance mix (still feeling inspired since seeing the No Nos 2 weeks ago)
Wild Cherry
Earth, Wind, and Fire
KC and the Sunshine Band–it was hard to choose which video to post, they all have their strengths (and weaknesses), but I settled for the one which featured the most hairy, bare-to-the-waist chests
P Funk
The Commodores
And this old gem, which in my memory was a little more up-tempo. Still good dance music even if her voice drags a bit
Apollo Smile

that’s one helluva meltdown, twink. glad you remembered apollo smile:
in the summer i wear my tube top

another bit of silliness from those days:

Cool, pt, and yes, silly in a good way.
Hey, I picked up a bunch of poetry at the library yesterday and I grabbed Archie Ammons “Garbage.” I’ll let you know what I think. Then you can let me know what you think. Then you can let me know what the kids think. How long do you take to cover it in your class?
Someone has written all over the text, but only in pencil, so it’s respectful. I hate when people mark up poetry with crayon and Sharpies.
It doesn’t look too insurmountable, but normally when I see a book-length poem, I want to run the other way. Easy-peasy, right?
btw, I look just like that Vegas girl when I wear my headdress. And Paul, he looks just like the one guy when he dons his Afro wig. Kickin’ it, old school.
